Reverse Cheeseburger
PAIRS WELL WITH: 2020 V SERIES RED BLEND
YIELDS: 4 BURGERS
INGREDIENTS:
1 pound 80% lean / 20% Ground Beef
1 package of cheddar cheese slices
4 brioche buns
1 red onion, thinly sliced
1 bunch curly leaf lettuce
1-2 slicer tomatoes, thickly sliced
Optional: pickles, ketchup, mustard
Your favorite mixed salad greens for a side salad
RECIPE DIRECTIONS
Divide 1 pound of ground beef into 8 thin patties. Stack 4 cheddar cheese slices together, then cut into quarters.
Each burger will consist of 2 thin patties sandwiched around one stack (the equivalent of 1 slice) of cheddar cheese. Seal the patty edges together by pinching the meat around the circumference. Repeat with the remaining patties until you have 4 stuffed patties total.
Heat a cast iron skillet over medium high heat. Cook each patty undisturbed for a few minutes on each side until deeply brown.
Note: Depending on the size of your pan, you may need to cook the patties in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan. Next, toast the buns until golden brown and assemble your cheeseburgers with thinly sliced red onion, curly leaf lettuce, thick slices of juicy tomatoes, and pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Serve with your favorite mixed greens as a side salad.
